Our Computing Curriculum Intent
To deliver a high-quality, inclusive computing education for all: We aim to ensure every child has access to a rich and engaging computing education, fostering an environment where all learners, regardless of background or ability, can thrive in their digital learning journey.
• To cultivate secure knowledge and skills for digital creativity and problem-solving: We encourage children to use technology creatively and purposefully, fostering their ability to generate ideas, express themselves, solve problems, and think critically as digital citizens.
• To equip children with digital literacy for an evolving world: Our curriculum focusses on developing digital literacy, preparing pupils to navigate and participate meaningfully in a world where technology continually transforms work, communication, and leisure.
• To nurture confident, creative, and inquisitive learners in computing: By building foundational computing skills, we enable pupils to become confident explorers, willing to challenge themselves, innovate, and think analytically as they engage with digital technology.
• To provide children with essential knowledge and skills for online safety: Our curriculum emphasises online safety, ensuring children understand how to protect themselves in the digital world and empowering them to use technology responsibly and ethically.
This intent ensures that computing education not only imparts technical skills but also cultivates digital literacy, creativity, curiosity, and a commitment to safe online practices.
